For them we are looking for an: 

ESG Engagement Expert

Main responsibilities

The role will be part of the Active Ownership team, reporting to the Head of the function, and will contribute to engagement and voting activities across investee companies. The successful candidate will support initiatives aimed at improving ESG practices within portfolio holdings, with the ultimate goal of mitigating long-term risks and strengthening sustainable financial performance for clients. The position involves analysing ESG issues, preparing research materials and collaborating with internal stakeholders such as ESG analysts, Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts. The candidate will actively participate in engagement dialogues with issuers, monitor their progress over time and support escalation actions when required. He/She will also contribute to the preparation of internal committee documentation and ensure that engagement outcomes are accurately tracked and reported.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Research, analyze and report the identified ESG risks on the investee company 
  • Cross teamwork with ESG analysts, Portfolio Managers, Credit analysts to gather insights and inputs 
  • Build engagement research to represent issues detected 
  • Participate to meetings with issuers · Monitor evolutions of issuers 
  • Contribute to prepare relevant internal committee material to enable informed decision making 
  • Populate engagement database with engagement activities 
  • Contribute to prepare relevant reporting material

Candidate profile

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Law, or related fields in ESG/Sustainability
  • 2–4 years of experience in Asset Management companies (SGR), Asset Owners (Pension Funds, Insurance Companies), or in financial / ESG analysis roles within large corporations
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); knowledge of a second language (Italian and/or French) considered a plus
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, macroeconomics and accounting
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Excellent analytical and writing abilities, with the capacity to produce clear and impactful research
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
