Senior Expert Logistics Management

Main responsibilities

The role oversees the full natural gas logistics function for the Italian market, it is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing both long‑term and daily logistics operations to guarantee an efficient, reliable and compliant flow of natural gas across all relevant network grids up to delivery points throughout Italy.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up and manage the natural gas logistics function for the Italian market, defining processes, standards, and interfaces with internal teams, grid operators and regulatory bodies.
Implement all logistics processes required to fulfill gas sales contracts and support the rollout of natural gas solutions in line with Italian regulations.
Oversee transportation and storage capacity, distribution contract and the full dispatching cycle (balancing, nomination, allocation, programming).
Prepare capacity booking needs across different time horizons and ensure accurate transport cost calculations and bookings on DSO and TSO networks.
Interpret and apply regulatory requirements, representing OMV in Italian gas market working groups and associations.
Manage sales‑related logistics activities including metering point changes, capacity management, consumption data, invoicing, reporting and coordination with grid operators.
Ensure efficient and compliant daily and long‑term logistics operations across all relevant networks.
Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and support pricing with accurate logistics inputs.
Oversee metering point implementation, data management, invoice validation and customer change processes, including handling customer and emergency requests.
Identify risks and opportunities, drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with OGMS/ICS and all relevant labor, safety and operational regulations.

Candidate profile

Minimum 7 years of experience in logistics, supply chain or portfolio management within the energy/utilities sector, specifically in natural gas;
Strong knowledge of the Italian energy market and of natural gas structures and processes;
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with strong data management and portfolio analysis capabilities;
Proven experience in project management and cross‑functional collaboration;
Strong customer orientation, negotiation skills and business acumen;
Hands‑on, solution‑driven mindset with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment;
Entrepreneurial attitude, high initiative, team spirit and growth mindset;
Fluency in Italian and English. German is a strong advantage.
