ESG Fund Quant Analyst
Main responsibilities
The ESG Funds Analysis & Benchmarking team is in charge of performing ESG Due Diligence screening on third party asset managers and funds. The activity includes analysis and screening of the appropriateness of sustainability risks management, ESG ratings assigned, qualitative assessment of ESG characteristics of the AM/fund.
The role involves the following activities:
- Support the team in the definition and regular update of an ESG screening methodology, dissemination of the proprietary ESG DD questionnaire and interaction with third party asset managers, maintenance and regular update of the related ESG Database and strict collaboration with portfolio managers
- Support the team in building ad hoc tools to automatize and improve the collection and elaboration of the ESG Data ·
- Engage with related asset managers and fund managers on their environmental, social and governance performance and the management of their respective ESG risks and opportunities ·
- Partner more broadly with Portfolio Managers ·
- Support the team in monitoring the ESG Market trends, greenwashing practices and benchmarks.
Candidate profile
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering (data science or data engineering specialization), or related fields in the Sustainability space
- At least 5 years of experience as ESG Fund analyst, preferably with experience in the management of the Data and in ESG investing in Asset Manager, Rating agencies or Big Four consulting firms
- Fluent in English. The knowledge of a second foreign language (Italian and/or French) will be considered a plus ·
- Knowledge of ESG ratings, net-zero, and international ESG and climate initiatives
- Experience with ESG reporting frameworks (TCFD, CDP, PRI)
- Strong Analytical, IT and quantitative skills, ideally including programming language (Python, R, Matlab, Java, SQL, PowerBI)
- Advanced MS Office (Word/PowerPoint/Excel) skills
- Experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, and ESG data vendors (MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, etc.)
- International background is a plus
- Interest or knowledge in climate change & sustainability topics
- A strong team player with a curious, proactive, and hands-on mindset, capable of making things work and driving initiatives forward.
